Show synopsis:

On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson is a heartwarming and deeply funny play about love, family, and the passage of time. Set at a serene lakeside cabin in Maine, it follows aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer as they return for their summer retreat—only this year, their adult daughter arrives with her fiancé and his teenage son, sparking new tensions, unexpected bonds, and moments of reflection. With its mix of sharp humor, tender emotion, and timeless themes about growing older and reconnecting with the ones we love, On Golden Pond invites audiences to laugh, reminisce, and rediscover the beauty of second chances. A touching story that feels like coming home, it’s a play that will stay with you long after the curtain falls.

Basement Storage Work Days

We will be working to organize the CHS/Bear Basement so that we can better utilize the storage space for costumes, props, set pieces, etc. With The Bear moving into and sharing the space, the basement has become a bit unmanageable. It's very difficult to access set building materials and locate costumes and props.

This is a BIG job and we need many hands to help.

  • October 4 GOAL: empty "The Bear's" storage corner of the basement AND build racks for flats AND clean up cobwebs in space
  • October 11 GOAL:  Build storage shelves in The Bear's corner AND organize props into tubs
  • October 18 GOAL: relocate and organize The Bear's props/tubs/furniture/etc into our storage area AND move costume racks into our storage area AND build wall hangings holder
  • October 25 GOAL: relocate green room props into the storage room AND assist CHS with any of their prop organizational needs
